Nicki has always been passionate about writing. She thinks the process of writing is as important as the product at the end, and believes that if she doesn’t enjoy her writing then you won’t enjoy reading what she has written.
When working for a Masters in Creative Writing and Publishing she studied at West Dean College while continuing to work full time as a midwife, squeezing extra minutes out of busy days for writing. This Place of Happiness is her debut novel. It is the story of a young woman, Rabia, and her family, living in modern day Algiers. Nicki is completely fascinated by the history of Algerian women and thinks that their stories are important and need telling.
Nicki’s first novel This Place of Happiness is being published by Dark Edge Press this summer, and she recently completed her second novel, All The Way Home. She is now working on editing her third novel and will be sending it to Dark Edge Press very soon. She is relishing the freedom to explore what being a full time writer looks like for her.
